Alloy 20 is an austenitic alloy of nickel, iron, and chromium. The combination of the elements gives this alloy excellent resistance to the actual aggressive attack of corrosives—especially at higher temperatures and in chloride-containing solutions. Addition of niobium also tends to improve its stability immensely, thus providing resistance to intergranular corrosion.
